New article on the incidental consumption of news, in New Media and Society

The article, written by Pablo Boczkowski, Eugenia Mitchelstein and Mora Matassi, analyzes how the incidental consumption of news in young people develops, based on 50 in-depth interviews with interviewees aged 18 to 29 from Argentina. The paper finds the existence of connections between technology and content, ubiquity, derived information routines and increasingly mediated sociability and fragmentary reading patterns, loss of news hierarchy and coexistence of several types of filters.
